This project is to be an application that allows for basic management of a user group and its corresponding site. The idea is to utilize a basic site, similar to blogging software available, that can be expanded with minimal effort. The main goals of the application are to provide:

- Ability to create events, supporting details and a "register" mechanism
- Ability to create "news" items (think blog) that appear seamlessly within the site
- Fully functional administration section allowing for division of responsibilities for various parts of the site management
- Ability to add pages and content areas (pods) through a simple interface with no uploading needed
- Ability to join the site and set preferences on receiving various email activities
- Ability to create a newsletter and delivery to members
